Lions interested in re-signing Rob Sims

Rob Sims' tenure with the Detroit Lions may not be over just yet.

Sims is currently a free agent, but general manager Martin Mayhew says the team is trying to re-sign the veteran.

"We've been in contact with Rob, and we've had some dialogue with him about a contract," Mayhew told reporters at the owner's meetings.

The 31-year-old started every game at left guard last season and hasn't missed a contest since joining the Lions in 2010.

Sims was ranked as the best screen blocker in 2014 by Pro Football Focus.
