Russell Wilson is reportedly in negotiations to sign a lucrative contract extension, but fellow quarterback Andrew Luck may have to wait on his new deal.

The Indianapolis Colts don't plan on inking Luck to a new deal until after the 2015 season, owner Jim Irsay said on Monday at the owner's meetings.

"Andrew still has two years left, and whatever our talks are between Andrew and his people will remain confidential," Irsay said. "... I really think most likely the scenario is going into the offseason next year is when that second contract will come up. That's the vision I have right now."

Luck could become the NFL's highest-paid quarterback once he reaches an extension. He posted a career-high 40 touchdowns and 4,761 passing yards in 2014, while leading the team to their third-straight playoff appearance.

The Colts can also still pick up Luck's fifth-year option for 2016.

Luck will likely wait until Wilson signs his deal before making his contract demands to the Colts.
