The New York Giants added to their depth on the defensive side of the ball by signing free-agent defensive end George Selvie on Thursday.

Terms of the contract were not included with the Giants' official announcement, but Selvie is reportedly joining the team on a one-year, $1.4-million deal, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Selvie saw his most extensive action with the division-rival Dallas Cowboys from 2013 to 2014, starting in 29 of 32 regular-season games, notching 10 sacks and 81 tackles.

The 28-year-old should earn a situational pass-rush role on the Giants' defensive front, with an opportunity for plenty of production, lining up on the opposite side of Jason Pierre-Paul.
