Colts' Erik Walden allegedly assaulted by ex-girlfriend

Melina Vastola / USA TODAY Sports

Indianapolis Colts linebacker Erik Walden was allegedly assaulted by his ex-girlfriend, Erica Palmer, on Saturday

Walden and another woman entered his Braselton, Ga., home, where Palmer had allegedly entered earlier through a back door. Upon seeing them, Palmer struck Walden's companion with a baseball bat, breaking her arm, while Walden wrestled a gun away from Palmer, according to police.

Palmer then allegedly sprinted away but reappeared as Walden attempted to drive himself and the other woman to a hospital, and proceeded to slice the Colts linebacker with a knife.

Braselton police arrested Palmer at a hotel shortly after.

She faces counts of aggravated assault, family violence aggravated assault, theft by taking, and first-degree burglary.

Palmer and Walden have two children together. They're in the care of the 29-year-old Walden while Palmer remains in jail.
