The Cleveland Browns have reached a deal with wide receiver Dwayne Bowe.

The two sides agreed to terms on a two-year deal Thursday, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

The 30-year-old visited the Browns this past weekend and was considered one of the team's top offseason priorities, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Cleveland's No. 1 receiver, Josh Gordon, received a one-year suspension from the NFL for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.

Bowe had spent his entire eight-year career in Kansas City before being released March 12. He appeared in 118 games as a Chief, catching 532 passes - the second-most in franchise history - for 7,155 yards and 44 touchdowns.

"The Browns were the perfect situation from the fan base to the style of offense and the way I'll be utilized to help the team go to the next level," Bowe said in a statement.

"After eight years, you're a pro's pro. I've had every style of coaching, every personality. I've been through a lot and it's going to make this transition a little easier because of what I've been through. The fan base is crazy just like Kansas City and is something I'm excited to be a part of. The positive energy I'm going to bring to the locker room is definitely going to take the Dawg Pound to the next level."
