Report: Saints re-sign Jamarca Sanford to one-year contract

Derick E. Hingle / US PRESSWIRE

The New Orleans Saints have re-signed safety Jamaica Sanford to a one-year deal, according to multiple reports.

Sanford joined the Saints in early November after spending the first half of the season with the Washington Redskins. He appeared in six games and tallied 14 tackles down the stretch.

Safety is one of the lone strong areas of the Saints' starting defensive lineup, but the 29-year-old should be a key depth and special teams contributor for the team going forward.
