Bears agree to trade Brandon Marshall to Jets

The Chicago Bears have agreed to a trade sending veteran wide receiver Brandon Marshall to the New York Jets, the team announced Tuesday.

The Jets will receive Marshall and Chicago's seventh-round pick in exchange for a fifth-round pick.

The deal, as ESPN's Adam Schefter indicates, is still pending a physical, but the Jets appear to have made a significant move in addressing one of the most glaring needs on their roster.

Having first joined the Bears in a trade from the Miami Dolphins in 2012, Marshall put together two consecutive highly productive campaigns before struggling with injuries in 2014.

While the 30-year-old has had difficulty sticking with one team for an extended period of time, now joining his fourth club as he enters his 10th NFL season, Marshall has long established himself as a legitimate No. 1 wide receiver.

The trade can become official when the new league year opens March 10 and, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the Jets are expected to send a fifth-round selection to the Bears in return for the five-time Pro Bowler.
