AFC North Notebook: Ravens ask Webb to take pay cut; Hoyer done with Browns

Baltimore Ravens

Ravens looking to continue trend of judicious free-agent spending. With needs at safety, wide receiver and cornerback, the Ravens will wait to see how the market unfolds before making any rash decisions.

Team asks Webb to take pay cut. Looking to clear up some cap space, the Ravens have asked veteran corner Lardarius Webb to restructure his deal.

Forsett doesn't want to be a one-hit wonder. At times last season, Justin Forsett was one of the league's most explosive and productive backs. He hopes to follow that up in Baltimore in 2015.

Cincinnati Bengals

Rey Maualuga re-signs with Bengals. The veteran inside linebacker has decided to stick around in Cincinnati, signing a three-year contract extension on Thursday.

Cleveland Browns

Hoyer confirms he won't return to Browns. Not much of a surprise with the Browns signing Josh McCown, but Brian Hoyer will move on in 2015. He wants to compete for a starting job.

Andrew Hawkins wrote fake email to help launch NFL career. Posing as an assistant from the University of Toledo, Hawkins sent scouts a positive report on himself to get noticed.

Browns look for cost effective free-agent deals. The Browns aim to stick with the plan of spending on a handful of quality players that don't command outrageous salaries, filling in the gaps with other veterans.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Kiper has Steelers taking Landon Collins. With the 22nd pick, ESPN's Mel Kiper sees the Steelers taking Alabama safety Landon Collins. The secondary needs an overhaul at this point.

Adams sues three men over assault. Offensive lineman Mike Adams is suing three men that were acquitted of assaulting him in June 2013. Adams was stabbed and had a gun pulled on him.

Polamalu unsure about his future. The stalwart safety is mulling retirement and hasn't come to a decision about whether he'll play in 2015.
