Report: Eagles, Giants expected to target Devin McCourty

Matt Kartozian / USA TODAY Sports

If New England Patriots safety Devin McCourty hits free agency, his next home could be in the NFC East.

The Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants are expected to pursue the Super Bowl winner, according to Dianna Marie Russini of NBC4.

Both squads could certainly benefit from McCourty's services. The Eagles finished 31st against the pass last season and the Giants could lose safety Antrel Rolle in free agency.

McCourty has developed into one of the finest safeties in the game and will no doubt get paid handsomely because of it.

The Eagles have been clearing cap space in recent days by trading LeSean McCoy and releasing Trent Cole, so they could be angling to make a major splash on March 10.
