NFC East Notebook: Cruz not worried about competition; Eagles look for corner in draft

Dallas Cowboys

Cowboys sign veteran linebacker Keith Rivers. The Cowboys have a major need at linebacker and Rivers gives them some depth at the position. Rolando McClain, Justin Durant and Bruce Carter are all impending free agents.

Romo goes to Duke-Wake Forest game. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was spotted rooting on Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Jerry Jones may have to testify in Super Bowl ticket fraud case. After Superbowl XLV tickets at AT&T Stadium didn't have corresponding seats, Jerry Jones may have to testify in the corresponding lawsuit.

New York Giants

Victor Cruz not worried about competition at receiver. After general manager Jerry Reese voiced concern about Cruz's ability to return to top form, the wideout talked about his confidence in his abilities.

Larry Donnell fine after plane crashes. The Giants' tight end was aboard a Delta flight that skidded off the runway upon landing at LaGuardia Airport in a snow storm.

Giants will pursue Suh, but chances to land him are slim. With Ndamukong Suh set to hit the open market, the Giants would like to bring in the dominant defensive tackle. The Giants will call, but may not have the ammo to land Suh.

Philadelphia Eagles

Eagles will take a cornerback, Kiper says. In the event the Eagles can't find a way to trade up for Marcus Mariota, they're definitely going to take a corner, according to ESPN's Mel Kiper.

Longtime Eagle Trent Cole released. After 10 seasons with the Eagles, Cole will be moving on and pursuing a contract on the open market. His track record will make him a very attractive option for many teams.

Everything you need to know about the McCoy-Alonso trade. The shocking trade was pulled off on Tuesday. Since then, many developments have occurred, including a potential LeSean McCoy holdout.

Washington Redskins

Albert Haynesworth warns Suh to do his research on suitors. The free-agent bust talked about how his move to the Redskins "took (his) love away from the game." He warned Suh to make an informed choice.

Safety Tyvon Branch visits Redskins. With the Redskins in desperate need of secondary help, the former Raiders safety visited with the team on Thursday. Branch would be an upgrade at safety.

Redskins to be methodical under McCloughan. The newly hired GM will take a steady approach to signing free agents, looking for needs and good fits as opposed to big splashes. Does he have total roster authority, though?
