Report: Jaguars, Raiders, Chiefs expected to target Randall Cobb in free agency

With free agency under a week away, it appears likely Green Bay Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb will test the open market.

The Jacksonville Jaguars, Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly among those expected to make a run at Cobb in a highly-contested bidding process, according to Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Both the Jaguars and Raiders have needs at the position and plenty of salary cap space to use, so the two clubs being involved in discussions for the top free-agent wide receiver hardly come as a surprise.

While Cobb's contract demands may make it difficult for the Chiefs to do the same, a significant lack of talent at the position could conceivably see the team clear cap space in order to make an offer.

Returning to Green Bay remains an option for the 24-year-old wideout, but a potential bidding war would make it quite unlikely.

Cobb finished the 2014 campaign with career highs in all major receiving categories, tallying 91 receptions for 1,287 yards and 12 touchdowns, and all indications are that he'll soon be rewarded with a substantial long-term deal.
