Roos (knee) announced his retirement from the NFL on Thursday, Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean reports.

Analysis:

The former second-round pick played 10 seasons in the NFL, all with the Titans. He earned his lone Pro Bowl invite and All-Pro recognition in 2008, and was a key run blocker during Chris Johnson's 2,000-yard season in 2009. He saw his final season with the Titans come to an early conclusion after five games when he required microfracture surgery on his right knee. Taylor Lewan, who was the Titans' first-round selection in the 2014 NFL Draft, is expected to serve as the long-term successor for Roos.
