Chiefs release Anthony Fasano

Kirby Lee / USA TODAY Sports

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Anthony Fasano was released by the club Thursday.

Fasano caught 25 passes for 226 yards and four touchdowns, appearing in 15 games.

Entering his 10th season, Fasano will likely be acquired by a team looking for a red-zone specialist.

It's somewhat ironic that the Chiefs released Fasano, given that their receivers recorded a league-record zero touchdowns last season.
