Chargers' Jarret Johnson announces his retirement

Christopher Hanewinckel / USA TODAY Sports

Jarret Johnson is calling it a career.

The San Diego Chargers linebacker announced his retirement Tuesday, ending a 12-year career that saw him tally 25.5 sacks.

Johnson's best years were in Baltimore and he slowed down over the last three campaigns in San Diego, managing just 5.5 sacks.

Still, the 33-year-old started 14 games for the Chargers last season and they'll need to find someone to replace those snaps.
