C.J. Spiller wants to remain with Bills

Buffalo Bills running back C.J. Spiller says he wants to come back to Orchard Park for the 2015 season.

Spiller, set to become a free agent this summer, will warrant interest from teams looking for a sprinter out of the backfield.

Buffalo selected Spiller with the ninth overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft and has had mixed results so far. He had a breakout campaign in 2012, rushing for 1,244 yards and six touchdowns but has failed to come close to those totals the past two seasons, due to injuries and scheme changes.

The 27-year-old reiterated his desire to play for the Bills on Tuesday, but made it clear he wants to play for a club where he's a priority.

"Obviously you've got to go with a place that fits your style of play," Spiller said on Sirius XM Radio. "You've got to be comfortable with the offensive coordinator. Obviously you want to have a great quarterback. You want to be in a good situation. Location is not going to be a (priority) on the list. Obviously you want to compete for championships because at the end of the day, that's what it's all about. ... pretty much having the chance to get to the postseason. ... a contender and not just one year-wonder."

In a cruel twist of fate, Spiller's season ended after bursting out for a 52-yard run against the Minnesota Vikings, when he broke his collarbone after falling awkwardly at the end of the play.

He's expected to be ready for the start of training camp.
