Titans CEO Tommy Smith promises team will continue to improve

The Tennessee Titans only have one way to go - up - upon entering the 2015 season.

Tennessee sputtered to a 2-14 record in 2014 and hold the second overall pick in the upcoming draft.

Given the dubious record, Titans CEO Tommy Smith wrote a letter to season-ticket holders, promising the team will continue to make strides to get better.

"I know last year was difficult, but you have my word that we are doing everything we can to improve all aspects of our organization,'' Smith said via Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean. "Our primary focus is winning football games and doing all we can to make that happen."

Tennessee opted not to raise ticket prices and said they'd make a major push in free agency. According to Spotrac data, the Titans have approximately $39 million in cap space.

"The upcoming free agency period and NFL Draft will provide avenues to improve our personnel and we believe the on-field play will improve with the continuity of the coaching staff and a year in our coaches' new systems," Smith wrote.

Tennessee hasn't had a winning season since 2011, and have a long rebuild ahead, needing to upgrade a number of positions including quarterback.
