A sweater once owned by legendary Green Bay Packers coach Vince Lombardi sold for $43,000 at an auction Saturday.

Lombardi helped the Packers win the first two Super Bowls in league history and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1971.

The black and yellow garment reads 'West Point' on the front and 'Lombardi' is written on the inside.

Sean and Rikki McEvoy of Knoxville, Tenn., bought the item in July 2014 for less than a dollar and made a massive profit.

"I picked it up and thought it was cool," Sean McEvoy said to ESPN's Darren Rovell. "At first, I thought it was a basketball warm-up.

"I didn't see the Lombardi tag when we walked out with it or I might have made a connection. My wife saw it but she didn't know who that could be."

The identity of the buyer remains anonymous, according to Rovell.
