NFC West Notebook: Lynch's future unclear; Kaepernick rips critic on Twitter

Seattle Seahawks

Wilson takes responsibility for Super Bowl loss. Russell Wilson's interception to end Super Bowl XLIX may be the enduring play of the season. Wilson accepted blame for the loss in a video he released with The Players' Tribune. 

Lane suffered torn ACL. Jeremy Lane suffered a gruesome wrist fracture during the Super Bowl. In a cruel twist of fate, Lane also suffered a torn ACL on the same play and will have to undergo surgery

Lynch's future remains uncertain. Reclusive running back Marshawn Lynch has not decided on his plans for the 2015 season and general manager John Schneider has no idea whether the Seahawks' star will return or retire. 

Arizona Cardinals

Foote moves into coaching role. Has linebacker Larry Foote hung up his cleats for good? Foote has joined the Cardinals' coaching staff as an assistant coach and will likely work the team's linebackers. 

Was re-signing Fitzgerald a smart move? Larry Fitzgerald holds the team record in numerous statistical categories for the Cardinals and Brandon Gdula examines whether re-signing the veteran was the correct decision for Arizona. 

Keim says Ellington needs to get stronger. Andre Ellington emerged as the team's feature back, but general manager Steve Keim says he has to become more durable and get stronger in the offseason. 

San Francisco 49ers

Kaepernick rips into critic. Colin Kaepernick responded angrily to a Twitter user who questioned his accuracy as a quarterback. Kaepernick fired off a series of tweets, questioning the fan's ability to evaluate tape and whether his family cares about his day-to-day living. 

49ers offer no response to Harbaugh. Former head coach Jim Harbaugh said that leaving San Francisco was not a mutually agreed upon decision. The 49ers did not offer any comment on Harbaugh's allegations

The failed 2012 draft class. The early returns on the 49ers' 2012 draft class are overwhelmingly negative, with early-round picks A.J. Jenkins and LaMichael James failing to make an impact. Jenkins was waived by the Chiefs on Tuesday.

St. Louis Rams

Robinson, Mason need to step up. Greg Robinson and Tre Mason were selected to make an impact on the team's offense and it's their time to seize increased roles in the team's game plan entering 2015. 

Rams cancel Fan Fest. The Rams have opted to cancel Fan Fest, an event they operate for their supporters in August. SB Nation reports that the team is cutting back on a number of fan engagement activities. 

Weinke named QB coach. St. Louis have hired former Heisman Trophy winner Chris Weinke as their quarterbacks coach. The Rams have struggled at quarterback since selecting Sam Bradford first overall in 2010.
