Guards

Mike Iupati

Height: 6-5
Weight: 331 lbs.
Age: 27

Iupati isn't the greatest pass blocker, but he could be an asset to a team that loves to run the football. Iupati ranked as the second best run blocker among guards in 2014, helping the 49ers to the league's fourth best rushing attack. He plays the left side, so if Iupati is paired with a strong tackle that can protect the quarterback, he'll be a huge asset.

Potential Landing Spots: New York Giants, Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Orlando Franklin

Height: 6-7
Weight: 320 lbs.
Age: 27

Franklin did a solid job blocking for a very immobile Peyton Manning last season, finishing in the top 10 in pass protection among guards. Playing the left side makes him even more valuable, as the majority of quarterbacks are right-handed. If the Broncos don't bring him back, a pass-happy team would be wise to pounce.

Potential Landing Spots: Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins

Clint Boling

Height: 6-5
Weight: 310 lbs.
Age: 25

The Bengals finished 2014 ranked sixth overall in rushing, and Boling was a big reason for that. The steady run blocker has played all but four games over the past three seasons and he was part of a Cincy unit that did an excellent job keeping Andy Dalton upright.

Potential Landing Spots: San Diego Chargers, New York Giants, Cincinnati Bengals

Rob Sims

Height: 6-3
Weight: 312 lbs.
Age: 31

Sims isn't dominant by any stretch, but he's a durable veteran that provides value. He hasn't missed a game since 2009 and is a good athlete for his size. Sims was the top-rated screen blocker in 2014 and had plenty of practice perfecting his craft in the Lions' offense.

Potential Landing Spots: San Diego Chargers, Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins

James Carpenter

Height: 6-5
Weight: 321 lbs.
Age: 25

Carpenter was a first-round pick in 2011, and he finally started showing why he was worthy of that selection last season. However, an ankle injury forced him out of three games and it impacted his performance the rest of the way. That said, Carpenter is still just 25 and has plenty of big game experience, both with Seattle and in college with Alabama.

Potential Landing Spots: Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears, Arizona Cardinals

Other Notable Free Agent Guards

  • Dan Connolly
  • Davin Joseph
  • Erik Pears
  • Vladimir Ducasse
  • Charlie Johnson

Centers

Rodney Hudson

Height: 6-2
Weight: 299 lbs.
Age: 25

Hudson was the anchor of a Chiefs offensive line last season that paved the way for Jamaal Charles. He graded out as the third ranked center for 2014 and played more than 1,000 snaps. With issues all over the rest of the unit, the Chiefs need to keep Hudson, if at all possible, to give them stability up front.

Potential Landing Spots: Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego Chargers, Jacksonville Jaguars

Brian de la Puente

Height: 6-3
Weight: 306 lbs.
Age: 29

The Bears signed de la Puente to a one-year deal in April and it paid off. Despite an ankle injury ending his season in November, de la Puente finished as the league's seventh best center and was a bright spot on the Chicago offensive line. He also didn't surrender a quarterback hit, which will be a big selling point if he hits the open market.

Potential Landing Spots: Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, St. Louis Rams

Stefen Wisniewski

Height: 6-3
Weight: 315 lbs.
Age: 25

The Raiders could be in danger of letting another piece of talent they developed slip away. Wisniewski reportedly wasn't interested in offers the Raiders made to him in December , which isn't good news for Derek Carr. Having a second-year quarterback acclimate himself to a new center wouldn't be ideal. If that is indeed the case, there will be no shortage of suitors for Wisniewski's services. He'd be an upgrade in many spots around the league.

Potential Landing Spots: Oakland Raiders, New Orleans Saints, Miami Dolphins

Other Notable Free Agent Centers

  • Chris Myers
  • Jonathan Goodwin
  • Samson Satele
  • Dominic Raiola
