San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York made the hiring of defensive coordinator Eric Mangini official Friday during an appearance on NFL Network.
Mangini served as the 49ers tight ends coach the past two seasons, but is widely regarded as a strong defensive mind.
York also confirmed the hiring of Geep Chryst as offensive coordinator.
