Lions' Calvin Johnson won't require offseason surgery

Though he spent most of 2014 dealing with finger and ankle injuries, it appears that time will be the only thing Calvin Johnson needs to get back to 100 percent in the coming months.

The Detroit Lions' star wide receiver indicated Saturday that he won't require any surgery this offseason, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.

"Feeling good," Johnson said. "Coming along. I'm not 100 (percent) yet, but that's what the offseason's for, to get right. So reload and get ready for next year."

Johnson still performed as one of the league's best receivers despite playing through the lingering issues. Avoiding any offseason procedures should give him the opportunity to get back to full health and play at an even higher level in 2015.
