49ers hire Tom Gamble as senior personnel executive

The San Francisco 49ers hired Tom Gamble as their senior personnel executive Thursday. 

Gamble was the Philadelphia Eagles' vice president of player personnel for the past two years. 

San Francisco has retooled the majority of its coaching staff, and Gamble will work in tandem with general manager Trent Baalke to help the club get back to the playoffs.
