Browns' Dansby says Manziel made the defense better 'every day'

The list of people that feel Johnny Manziel needs to improve his work ethic is a long one, but not everybody shares that opinion.

Cleveland Browns linebacker Karlos Dansby went up against Manziel in practice all season and stated he did an excellent job of preparing the defense.

"Johnny gave us some great looks,'' Dansby told cleveland.com on Wednesday. "I can't lie. He was giving us that every day. He was making us better as a defense every day."

Dansby also noted Manziel was put in a difficult position by being asked to start so late in the season.

"Like I said, it's a different level when you get on the field and you get thrown into the action like that. It's a tough situation for him, not having any reps throughout the whole season and then getting thrown into the fire.''

Unlike some, Dansby hasn't written Manziel off and thinks he could be the future of the Browns.

"Success,'' said Dansby. "I see success if he works hard at it. The guy is talented. He can be a talented player for a long time to come. He's unique in the way he plays the game and hopefully he can continue to grow and become a better player.''
