Vince Wilfork thinks Bill Belichick is getting soft

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick usually maintains a gruff exterior, but perhaps he is starting to mellow in front of his players.

Vince Wilfork, who has played for Belichick since 2004, thinks his coach is getting soft.

"At the end of the day, he is still Bill," Wilfork told ESPN. "He coaches the same way. He demands everything the same way. But I think he's got a little soft heart now. Over time, he got a little softer, though."

Wilfork added that Belichick has changed his personality to better relate to younger players.

"You don't really have that veteran team that he used to have. When I first came in the league, he had a veteran team that didn't take much to get those guys going. But if I have to say anything, I think over the years he got a soft heart. He's more understanding now."

Belichick may have be softer when it comes to dealing with his players, but don't expect that to show through during press conferences.
