Report: 49ers hire Steve Logan as quarterbacks coach

Derick E. Hingle / USA TODAY Sports

The San Francisco 49ers have reached a two-year deal with Steve Logan to become the team's new quarterbacks coach, Jeff Gravley of WRAL-TV reports.

Logan said he's eager to get to work with Colin Kaepernick and praised his new starting quarterback's mobility, accuracy and intelligence.

Logan's most recent work in the NFL came as running backs coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2009 to 2011. His most notable work with a quarterback came at Boston College, where he was Matt Ryan's offensive coordinator.
