Colts promote Rob Chudzinski to associate head coach

The Indianapolis Colts announced a new contract for offensive assistant Rob Chudzinski on Tuesday. The deal includes a promotion to the title of associate head coach.

Chudzinski's deal as special assistant with the Colts was set to expire this week, making him eligible to interview for the various offensive coordinator vacancies available around the league. The San Francisco 49ersChicago Bears and St. Louis Rams all showed interest. 

"We’re excited to keep Chud in our family," Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said in an official statement. "He’s been a critical part of our operation and we’re looking forward to sharing even more success in the future."

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network is reporting the deal is for one year.
