Report: Redskins attempting to add Packers personnel director Highsmith to front office

Geoff Burke / USA TODAY Sports

Washington Redskins general manager Scot McCloughan is attempting to lure Green Bay Packers senior personnel director Alonzo Highsmith to his front office, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Highsmith, who was initially hired by former Packers GM Ron Wolf in 1999 following the end of his playing career, is reportedly highly respected in the scouting world.

After the 2010 season, Highsmith was named NFL Scout of the Year and has helped Green Bay amass a ton of talent throughout his time with the team.

The veteran personnel figure would be a welcome addition to a revamped Redskins front office.
