Davon House hoping to re-sign with Packers

Green Bay Packers cornerback Davon House is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the beginning of the new league year, but that doesn't mean he's looking to go elsewhere anytime soon.

House is certain his play has warranted him becoming a starter in the NFL and, although he hasn't been able claim that role with the Packers just yet, it remains his long-term goal

"The dream would be to stay here if they want me," House said, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "I know I can start in this league. That's what I want to do. Start and help my team."

The Packers are coming off a heartbreaking NFC Championship Game loss to the Seattle Seahawks. And after being on the sidelines for the game-winning touchdown, House feels as though he could have done something to help.

"It sucks, like against the Seahawks, overtime and I'm not on defense. It hurts," he said. "You lose the game and (think) I could've done something and I'm on the sideline. I truly believe my film says it's time."

House appeared in 13 games in 2014, tallying 27 tackles and one interception. The Packers would be wise to re-sign him if his price tag proves reasonable, but a need for cornerbacks around the league could easily drive up his price on the open market.
