Dolphins' Branden Albert progressing well in recovery from torn ACL, MCL

Miami Dolphins left tackle Branden Albert underwent reconstructive knee surgery in November after suffering a torn ACL and MCL and all indications are his recovery is headed in the right direction.

Both the Dolphins' organization and team doctors are beyond encouraged and pleasantly surprised with how quickly Albert has progressed, according to the Miami Herald's Adam H. Beasley.

Despite suffering the injury late in the year - if his recovery continues at the same pace - he should return in time for the Dolphins' regular season opener.

The seven-year veteran quickly established himself as the Dolphins' top offensive lineman after joining the team on a five-year, $46 million deal last offseason, and the unit certainly missed his presence down the stretch.
