The Washington Redskins have interviewed Clancy Pendergast for their vacancy at defensive coordinator, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Pendergast was the Arizona Cardinals' defensive coordinator for five seasons from 2004-08, then spent the 2009 season in the same role with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Pendergast hasn't been in the NFL since, instead coaching in college at both the University of California and USC.

Other candidates linked to the Redskins' defensive coordinator job thus far include Vic Fangio, Wade Phillips, Raheem Morris, Eric Mangini and Joe Barry.
