Buccaneers part ways with interim OC Marcus Arroyo

Melina Vastola / USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have fired quarterbacks coach and interim offensive coordinator Marcus Arroyo, according to multiple sources.

The move was expected after the Bucs hired Dirk Koetter to run the offense following the season.

Arroyo was brought in by Jeff Tedford, who served as the offensive coordinator before becoming ill, to coach the quarterbacks, but circumstances thrust him into a larger role.

"Despite difficult circumstances," Arroyo said in a statement released Friday, "I enjoyed my time here very much."

Arroyo went on to thank the organization and head coach Lovie Smith for the opportunity.
