The Chicago Bears are in negotiations with John Fox to make him the team's next head coach, according to Chris Mortensen of ESPN.

While the deal has not been finalized, it is "all but done," according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Jason Cole of Bleacher Report reported Thursday that Fox would be the Bears' next head coach, but conflicting reports surfaced stating that new general manager Ryan Pace was taking a methodical approach to his first head-coaching hire.

While nothing is final, the move appears to make sense, as Fox and Pace share a connection through New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton, who worked with Fox on the New York Giants and with Pace in New Orleans.
