Report: Joe Danna leaving Falcons to join Jets

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports / Reuters

Atlanta Falcons defensive backs coach Joe Danna is leaving the team to join the New York Jets, according to FOX Sports' Alex Marvez.

It's unclear what job Danna will be taking in New York, but the Jets have several openings following the departures of defensive coordinator Dennis Thurman, defensive line coach Karl Dunbar, linebackers coach Bobby April III and defensive backs coach Tim McDonald.

Danna just wrapped up his third season with the Falcons. Before that, he spent two years as assistant defensive backs coach for the Miami Dolphins, where he worked with new Jets head coach Todd Bowles.
