Cowboys' Bryant, Garrett react to overturned call vs. Packers

Dez Bryant's catch-that-wasn't-a-catch is a play that will be debated all week, and Bryant still doesn't understand the call that overturned it.

With four minutes left in Sunday's divisional-round game with the Green Bay Packers, the Dallas Cowboys wide receiver made a catch deep in Green Bay territory. However, the play was overturned on replay, becoming yet another controversial moment in this season's playoffs.

Following the game, Bryant expressed confusion and anger at the ruling, urging the league to change the rules.

"Come on, y'all seen what I seen. Please, please take that out. Take that rule out," Bryant told reporters, adding: "The thing that will bother me the most is if I hear during the week that it was a catch.

"All I know is I had possession of the ball coming down. That’s possession, right? One, two reach. That’s possession."

Bryant took to Twitter late Sunday night to express similar frustration:

The NFL's head of officiating had an explanation on Twitter:

Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett told FOX Sports following the game that he believed Bryant's catch was good, but it wasn't what defined the loss.

"It was fourth-and-two, and obviously they ruled it a catch on the field. This game wasn't about officiating at all. That certainly was a big play in the ballgame. It looked to me like Dez had two feet down and made a move common to the game, which is a thing they talk about a lot."

Owner Jerry Jones also believed the catch should have remained a catch, telling reporters, "the judgement on the field ... has to be overturned by strong evidence. I didn’t see it on that play."

Even the Detroit Lions and their players - who were upset about last week's officiating against the same Cowboys - chimed in on the play, but they were less than sympathetic.

Everyone on Twitter had something to say about the play, including Lebron James and Odell Beckham Jr.
