Bears' Jay Cutler to start Week 17 vs. Vikings; Jimmy Clausen out with concussion

The Chicago Bears will be going back to Jay Cutler as the starting quarterback for their Week 17 game against the Minnesota Vikings, the team announced Monday.

Jimmy Clausen had started in place of Cutler for the Bears' Week 16 loss to the Detroit Lions, but a concussion suffered on a helmet-to-helmet hit will have him back on the sidelines.

Cutler's return to the starting lineup comes as somewhat of a surprise given his benching just one week ago, but he'll now have another opportunity to demonstrate his abilities for either the Bears or another team possibly looking to acquire him in the upcoming offseason.

With Clausen ruled out, sixth-round rookie David Fales will serve as Cutler's back up.
