Report: Titans 'doing homework' on Bears' Jay Cutler

The possibility that the Chicago Bears could move on from quarterback Jay Cutler this offseason appears to be generating some interest in his services.

The Tennessee Titans have begun their research on the now-benched quarterback, potentially looking to acquire him should he become available, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Despite his recent struggles, Cutler remains one of the most physically talented quarterbacks in the NFL. The Titans are in contention for the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming draft, and thus in position to take a quarterback, but it's entirely possible they prefer to go the veteran route.

As Rapoport indicated, with Cutler having played his college football at nearby Vanderbilt University, Tennessee would be Cutler's preferred destination if the Bears indeed choose to part ways.

Head coach Ken Whisenhunt has enjoyed some success with veteran quarterbacks in the past, and with the Titans set to have plenty of salary cap space to work with, they'd represent one of several intriguing options for Cutler.
