Report: Goodell informs teams NFL won't return to Los Angeles in 2015

It appears it'll be at least another year before the NFL makes its highly-anticipated return to Los Angeles.

League commissioner Roger Goodell informed the San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders and St. Louis Rams - the three franchises believed to have interest in relocating - that no team would be moving to Los Angeles next season, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Recent reports suggest the league was closer than ever to adding at least one team back to L.A. - possibly as soon as next season - but the three teams most heavily involved in those discussions must now look elsewhere.

The most likely scenario for the Chargers, Raiders and Rams would be staying put through the 2015 season and re-visiting their relocation efforts in 2016. However, that will also involve settling stadium situations in their current cities.

At least one team will end up back in Los Angeles before long, but the league seems prepared to take its time and ensure that the process is done right this time around.
