Lions' Riley Reiff will not play Thursday vs. Bears

Detroit Lions left tackle Riley Reiff will not play during the team's Thanksgiving Day game with the Chicago Bears on Thursday afternoon.

Reiff, who suffered a knee injury during the first play of last week's loss to the New England Patriots, may have been able to suit up had the game been played on Sunday instead of Thursday.

“When you play that position, literally there’s contact on every play,” head coach Jim Caldwell told the team's official website. “Those guys get accustomed to being uncomfortable to the point where it gets to be something that obviously is out of his control. I think he usually finds a way to battle through.”

Reiff will be replaced at left tackle by undrafted rookie Cornelius Lucas.
