Fantasy Footnotes: Justin Forsett runs wild; Robert Woods makes a statement

Derick E. Hingle / USA TODAY Sports

Every gameday during the regular season, theScore's fantasy editors recap the most important news and notes from around the league.

Forsett can't be stopped

For anyone that doubted running back Justin Forsett could carry the load in the Baltimore Ravens backfield, they might want to watch the tape of Monday's game against the New Orleans Saints.

Forsett carried 22 times for 182 yards and two touchdowns. That performance followed a game last week where he had 112 yards and two scores.

The most important thing for Forsett owners is the carries. He's now had at least 15 in four of the past five games and essentially made Bernard Pierce irrelevant.

Woods has career day

It came against a weak New York Jets secondary, but Robert Woods owners will take it.

Woods had a career-high 118 yards on nine receptions to go along with a touchdown.

Don't expect this every week, but it's about time Woods starts taking advantage of the extra coverage Sammy Watkins occupies.

Other Notable Fantasy Lines

Drew Brees, QB, Saints
35-of-45 for 420 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT
A solid night and a late garbage touchdown pass was the icing on the cake.

Mark Ingram, RB, Saints
11 carries for 27 yards, 2 catches for 15 yards
His first rough outing in about a month and the Saints trailing most of the second half didn't help his cause.

Kenny Stills, WR, Saints
8 catches for 98 yards
The injury to Brandin Cooks could be a positive for Stills.

Marques Colston, WR, Saints
4 catches for 82 yards, 1 TD
A good night after four-straight subpar outings.

Jimmy Graham, TE, Saints
6 catches for 47 yards, 2 TDs
He's just about unstoppable in the red zone.

Joe Flacco, QB, Ravens
18-of-24 for 243 yards, 1 TD
Flacco was very efficient, but the play of Forsett may turn him into more of a game manager.

Torrey Smith, WR, Ravens
5 catches for 98 yards
Smith has now put together three-straight strong games in a row after a slow start to the year.

Steve Smith, WR, Ravens
4 catches for 89 yards, 1TD
Flacco seemed to be dialing him up for deep shots down the field, which is a good sign.

Michael Vick, QB, Jets
7-of-19 for 76 yards, 1 INT
A brutal night for Vick and he was eventually replaced by Geno Smith. No word yet on who gets the start next week, but either guy should only be started if absolutely necessary.

Chris Johnson, RB, Jets
7 carries for 40 yards, 3 catches for 22 yards
Johnson and Ivory each had seven carries, but neither was very impressive.

Jeremy Kerley, WR, Jets
5 catches for 66 yards
That was essentially a monster day when you consider the play New York got from Vick on Monday.

Kyle Orton, QB, Bills
24-of-32 for 230 yards, 2 TDs
A decent performance for Orton who leaned on Woods for most of the night. Things won't be as easy next week against the Browns, though.

Anthony Dixon, RB, Bills
12 carries for 54 yards, 1 TD, 1 catch for 8 yards
Even with the return of Fred Jackson, Dixon still picked up two more carries than Jackson.

Fred Jackson, RB, Bills
10 carries for 32 yards, 1 TD, 3 catches for 13 yards
He still didn't look completely healthy, but at least he found the end zone.

Sammy Watkins, WR, Bills
3 catches for 35 yards
A very disappointing performance given the matchup.

Bills Defense
7 sacks, 1 turnover, 1 TD
They lead the league in sacks and took advantage of a blocked punt for a score on Monday. The unit is always a good start.

Injury Ward

Pierre Thomas, RB, Saints
Thomas returned after a four-game absence and posted 19 yards on five carries. He should slowly work his way back into the gameplan, though, which could cut into Ingram's touches.

Waiver Wire

Joseph Morgan, WR, Saints
Morgan could be another benefactor of the Cooks injury. He had a 67-yard run and a 62-yard catch. Give him a look if you are desperate.
