Seahawks' Carroll on Lynch: 'We want him around here as long as he can play'

The relationship between Marshawn Lynch and the Seattle Seahawks organization has appeared to sour of late, but head coach Pete Carroll insists he doesn't want his star running back going anywhere anytime soon.

"If you guys ever would have asked - which you didn't - I would have told you we want him around here as long as he can play," Carroll said Friday, according to ESPN. "There's never been any hesitation and there's never been another thought about that."

Carroll went on to explain that any idea to the contrary certainly came from elsewhere, and that the team wants to do whatever necessary to have Lynch remain in a Seahawks uniform next season.

Lynch has tallied 177 carries for 813 yards and nine touchdowns through 10 games to start the season, continuing to prove himself as one of the NFL's most consistent running backs despite now being in his eighth year as a pro.
