The NFL's crackdown on profanity continues, and this time it's Buffalo Bills defensive end Jerry Hughes paying the price.

The league has fined Hughes a total of $22,050 for his unsportsmanlike conduct penalty last Thursday night against the Miami Dolphins, where he "directed abusive language toward an official," according to a ProFootballTalk report.

Hughes maintains that he hadn't said anything to warrant the penalty, but he was handed both the flag and a now fairly hefty fine nonetheless.
