AFC West Notebook: Broncos' Sanders, Thomas at practice; Tony Sparano's postgame party

Denver Broncos

Emmanuel Sanders, Julius Thomas back at practice. After suffering a concussion on a gruesome-looking hit, Emmanuel Sanders was back at practice Friday along with tight end Julius Thomas.

Sharks vs. seals used to motivate defense. Defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio uses video montages each Thursday to motivate his players. This week it was sharks hunting seals.

Game film review. The Broncos' defensive line coach breaks down film from last week's loss to the Rams. In particular, he highlights Von Miller's first quarter sack.

Kansas City Chiefs

Kelce and Thomas played a lot of snaps vs. Raiders. Tight end Travis Kelce and versatile scat back De'Anthony Thomas played 62 and 33 snaps, respectively, signifying their growing roles in the Chiefs' offense.

Ron Parker unhappy with officiating. Cornerback Ron Parker was not happy with a pass interference call he was whistled for on the Raiders' final drive. “The refs were real tough on us today,’’ Parker said. “They didn’t give us a break.’’

Tamba Hali: Raiders "wanted it more." The Pro Bowl defensive end acknowledged playing on a short week is difficult, but felt the Raiders wanted the victory a little bit more than the Chiefs.

Oakland Raiders

James Jones says David Carr acts like he's 30. The veteran receiver praised his quarterback after the game, saying he's an unbelievable leader and is "one of those young guys that acts like he's 30 already."

Tony Sparano's postgame party. Oakland's interim head coach was in fine form after the team's first win of the season Thursday night. The video is well worth a watch.

Woodson was ready to fight celebrating Raiders. Sio Moore and Khalil Mack celebrated a sack 15 yards beyond the line of scrimmage, forcing the team to take a timeout or get penalized for offsides. Charles Woodson was not impressed.

San Diego Chargers

Chargers see bright spot in the run game. The Chargers' offensive line has not been great in run blocking this season, but has a major size advantage against the St. Louis Rams this week.

Clemens shares inside info on Rams. Backup quarterback Kellen Clemens was with the Rams for three seasons before coming to the Chargers and has been crucial to helping game plan this week.

Antonio Gates returns to "The League." The tight end has had a bounce-back season and returns to FX Network's fantasy football comedy "The League" this week. He appeared in Season 1.
