NFC East Notebook: Jackson evasive on Instagram post; franchise Dez or DeMarco?

Dallas Cowboys

Cowboys needed more effort in years past. According to star wide receiver Dez Bryant, the Cowboys didn't work hard enough in past seasons when they went 8-8.

Who gets franchised, Dez or DeMarco? The Cowboys will have some decisions to make after the season on who they'll sign to a long-term deal and who they'll use the franchise tag on.

Romo's back is better, according to Jerry Jones. The bye week came at the right time for Tony Romo and the Cowboys. According to Jones, Romo maximized his time in order to be back at full strength Sunday.

New York Giants

Geoff Schwartz returns to practice, could play. The veteran guard could make his Giants debut this week after being sidelined since training camp with a toe injury.

Is Odell Beckham the best rookie wideout? In the historically great wide receiver class of 2014, Odell Beckham Jr. may be the best. The LSU product is getting the nod from Mike Mayock and possibly Richard Sherman.

Antrel Rolle believes Giants can run the table. The outspoken safety has made these types of pronouncements before and they've payed off. This year, Rolle believes the Giants can "absolutely" run the table.

Philadelphia Eagles

Matthews leads Eagles' disappointing rookie class. The Eagles'  2014 draft class has not been especially impressive outside of second-round wide receiver Jordan Matthews.

Chip Kelly still high on Mark Sanchez. The head coach cut his quarterback some slack after Sanchez's poor performance, saying rust was to be expected after not playing for a year.

Ertz and Sproles need to get involved. After producing in the first four games, both Zach Ertz and Darren Sproles have seen their usage and production dip. The Eagles need to get the two involved again.

Washington Redskins

Jackson evasive on Instagram post. After posting some cryptic messages on social media, wide receiver DeSean Jackson said,  “Whoever thought I was talking to him, then they can take it how it was taken.”

Steve Young walks back RG3 comments. After claiming that coaches have told him RG3 "doesn't work at it," Steve Young backed off his comments, saying "I have no insight."

Redskins ready to contain Kaepernick. After Russell Wilson torched the Redskins on the ground in Week 5 to the tune of 122 yards rushing and two touchdowns, the defense is preparing to contain the elusive Colin Kaepernick.
