Blount apologizes for how he left Steelers

Newly-minted New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount isn't proud of the way he left the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Blount, frustrated with his lack of carries, pulled himself out of last week's game against the Tennessee Titans, a decision he regrets despite his almost immediate signing by the Patriots once he passed through waivers.

"I would like to thank the Pittsburgh Steelers organization, Mr. Rooney, Kevin Colbert, Coach Tomlin and Coach Sax for the opportunity and experience they provided me," Blount wrote on Twitter. "I would also like to apologize to them and my teammates and fans for how things ended. I made a poor decision that I will definitely grow from.

"I wish the Steelers, my former teammates and Steeler Nation nothing but the best."

In 11 games this season, Blount has rushed for 266 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 65 carries.
