The Arizona Cardinals' fears have been realized.

Quarterback Carson Palmer suffered a torn ACL during the Cardinals' Week 10 victory over the St. Louis Rams on Sunday and will be placed on season-ending injured reserve, head coach Bruce Arians announced Monday.

The Cardinals anticipate that Palmer, who recently signed a three-year contract worth a reported $50 million, would be ready for the start of the 2015 season.

Backup Drew Stanton has filled in admirably in Palmer's absence, and will take the reins for the remainder of the season.
