Doug Martin: (Ankle) Doesn't Practice Thursday

Martin didn't practice Thursday, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports. However, the walking boot worn by Martin on Wednesday wasn't evident.

Analysis:

Despite ditching the boot, Martin's status won't be encouraging until he takes part in drills in some capacity. With only one opportunity to do so before the weekend, Friday's injury report will forecast his Week 9 availability, one way or the other. However, his performance on the year has left owners wanting more, and the potential activation of Charles Sims (ankle) in advance of Sunday's outing could throw a wrench in the backfield pecking order.
