Report: Packers' T.J. Lang doesn't need surgery, could return after bye

Green Bay Packers guard T.J. Lang won't require surgery to his injured ankle and could return to the field after the Packers' bye, Rob Demovsky of ESPN reports.

Lang reportedly avoided serious structural damage in his ankle. There's no concrete timetable for his return to the field, but the Packers are hopeful he will be on the field against the Chicago Bears on Nov. 9.

If Lang can't play, the Packers could again turn to backup Lane Taylor, who played in Lang's place after Lang went down on Sunday night. Demovsky points out that the Packers could also choose to insert JC Tretter, who is eligible to come off the IR-recall list, in Lang's place.
