Report: MRI on Colts' Vontae Davis comes back negative

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports / Reuters

Indianapolis Colts cornerback Vontae Davis appears to have avoided a serious knee injury coming out of Sunday's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Davis was forced from the game and did not return, but the MRI on his injured knee has come back negative, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

While he could still miss some time, the clean result is certainly good news for Davis and the Colts. His high-level play in the secondary has been one of the biggest factors in the defense's success so far this season.
