Report: MRI confirms Rams' Jake Long out for season with torn ACL

Thomas Campbell-USA TODAY Sports / Reuters

MRI results confirmed St. Louis Rams left tackle Jake Long suffered a torn ACL in Sunday's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports.

Long will miss the remainder of the season as a result, which could open the door for first-round draft pick Greg Robinson to take over starting duties at left tackle.

This is Long's second serious knee injury in the past 10 months. He underwent surgery in January after tearing the ACL and MCL in his right knee in Week 16 of last season.
