Texans' Jadeveon Clowney expects to play Sunday vs. Titans

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

It appears that the No 1. overall pick from this past spring's NFL draft is set to make his return to the field.

After a Week 1 knee injury forced him to undergo surgery and sit out the next six games, Houston Texans linebacker Jadeveon Clowney says he is ready to play Sunday against the Tennessee Titans:

The rookie will likely have his role limited upon returning, but getting back on the field is certainly a positive sign in his recovery nonetheless.

Clowney, J.J. Watt and the rest of the Texans' defense face a favorable matchup, as they take on a struggling Titans offense and a rookie quarterback in Zach Mettenberger making his first-career start.
